Templates

UCDmanager provides ready-to-use templates that give you a head start on documenting User-Centered Design activities. Each template comes pre-configured with the appropriate structure for a specific technique or project type, so you can focus on content rather than setup.

Templates cover the core techniques supported by UCDmanager:

• User Roles — define relationships between user groups and your system.
• Personas — create fictional representatives of major user groups.
• Abstract Essential Use Cases — capture user intentions in a technology-independent way.
• Heuristic Evaluations — systematically inspect interface designs for usability issues.
• Thinking-Aloud User Testing — document usability test sessions and findings.

A demo project based on GMail is available to explore how templates work in practice. You can browse its use cases, roles, and evaluation records to see a complete UCD documentation set.

To get started, sign into UCDmanager and choose a template from your dashboard. All templates are free to use.
